About the Event
Markets have been a feature of Tavistock since the charter of Henry the first in 1105. This 90-minute, flat walk will explore the sites and evolution of Tavistock’s markets, from the original Royal Charter, through to the construction by the Duke of Bedford in the 19th century of the Pannier Market to bring some sort of order to the chaos of market day.
For all walks suitable footwear and outer clothing should be worn. The cost is £5 per adult, payable at the Visitor Information Centre or online.
