Tavistock is a wonderful dog friendly town to visit, with many businesses offering excellent pooch friendly hospitality. There are plenty of places to eat, drink and visit so your four-legged friends will feel very welcome.

The historic pannier market (open Tuesday to Saturday | incl. Mondays during summer holidays) welcomes well-behaved dogs and you can mooch with your pooch as you browse to your heart's content.

For ideas on what to see and do in Tavistock, pay a visit to the Visitor Information Centre in the Guildhall where you can take your dog with you and find out more information on the town.

An historic walking tour of Tavistock serves as a perfect introduction to the town’s vast heritage and your doggo will love it too. They appreciate a walk down the river to watch the ducks float past as you take in the remains of the Abbey. Grab a fabulous coffee to go from The Stranded Sheep on Pepper St.

Many of the independent shops are also dog friendly and have dog treats on the counter and dog bowls with fresh water at the door. Keep an eye out for these as you are walking around the town.
