Tavistock is on the A386 from Plymouth and Okehampton, the B3357 from Princetown and the A390 into Cornwall.

By Bus

Via Exeter - The Dartmoor Line runs from Exeter mainline stations to Okehampton. The 118 bus to Tavistock connects with the two-hourly services. Exeter is served by trains from London Paddington, London Waterloo and the North.
Via Plymouth - Regular trains also run to Plymouth from London Paddington, from Penzance and the North. Stagecoach runs a bus service to Tavistock which is a 5 minute walk from the station.   
Via Gunnislake - The nearest station at 4.5 miles from Tavistock, is on the scenic Tamar Valley branch line from Plymouth. The 79 bus is a direct service to Tavistock.

  • Dartline 118: from Okehampton via Mary Tavy & Lydford

  • CityBus 79/79A: from Callington via Gunnislake & Calstock

  • 98: from Yelverton via Princetown

  • Target Travel 87/87A: Bere Ferrers/Bere Alston to Tavistock

  • Target Travel 98: Yelverton to Tavistock

  • Tavistock Country Bus runs a seasonal service to Torquay, Paignton, Dawlish or Barnstaple (visit http://tavistockcountrybus.co.uk)
