Tavistock Dickensian Evening

Tavistock’s much-loved Dickensian Evening takes place on 4th December, 2026.

Step back in time at Tavistock’s Dickensian Evening, a magical late-night shopping event. Shopkeepers don traditional attire, and the town comes alive with festive entertainment, including stilt walkers, choirs, and bands. Enjoy the scent of chestnuts, a traditional merry-go-round, and browse craft, food, and gift stalls.

The evening begins with a lantern parade at 5:30pm and light switch-on at 5:45pm.
